Cost & Sponsorships

Legacy Bible Institute is committed to making biblical education accessible and affordable. The cost per student is $300 per week, which translates to $10,500 for the whole year (35 weeks). However, through generous sponsorships, fundraising, and other options, most students can significantly reduce or even fully cover their expenses.


Financial Support Options

  • Sponsorships – Generous funding from Upward Bound Youth and donors can cover up to 75% of program costs, depending on a student's financial need.
  • Fundraising – We provide students with fundraising support both before and during their Legacy year. This includes help with fundraising letters, fundraising presentations, and other fundraising ideas. We will also help the student keep track of their supporters so they can write thank-you notes and periodic updates.
  • Part-Time Job – Students who want more opportunities to share the gospel with non-believers are permitted to find a local part-time job (up to 10 hours/week) during their time at Legacy; they can then direct their wages towards their program costs.
  • Summer Internship – Legacy graduates can apply to work as a summer intern for Upward Bound Youth, and in turn direct their wages towards their program costs. Note: A very limited number of intern slots are available each summer, and this is not guaranteed for any Legacy graduate. 
  • Payment Plans – An affordable monthly payment plan can be customized for each student who still has some amount to pay after graduating Legacy. 


Sponsorship Requirements

To keep their sponsorship, students must demonstrate commitment and diligence in their learning by maintaining the following standards:

  • 100% completion of all Bible readings
  • 95% attendance (excluding excused absences)
  • 70% or higher in:
  • Classroom participation
  • Praxis (hands-on ministry experience)
  • Mentoring engagement
  • Topical assignments
  • Study journals (submitted weekly)


If a student falls below these standards at any point during the year, their sponsorship may be decreased or suspended until the standards are once again met. For students who persistently fall below these standards, their sponsorship may be revoked entirely.


Applying for Sponsorship

Sponsorships are awarded based on financial need, as determined through the sponsorship application process. To apply for sponsorship for your time at Legacy, you must complete the general Legacy application first, followed by the sponsorship application. After we receive your sponsorship application, we will schedule a video call with you to discuss what level of sponsorship you will be offered, as well as the additional support that we can provide.
